PALERMO SHOPPING & COOKING COURSE
We have selected just for you a really nice experience: shopping and cooking at home. This is the only way to really enjoy the Sicilian life ... you can go with a local housewife to do shopping at the market, chose with her the fresh ingredients ... and transfer at her home to cook a delicious lunch.
This hands-on
cooking classes begin at 8:30AM with
meeting at your hotel.
Cooking is limited to a minimum of 2 people and a max of 4 people and usually
last until 1:30 pm.
Today we meet a local housewife and transfer with taxi
to explore the lively
Capo Market,
a large
open street market that captures the flavor
of Palermo's Saracen Arab past. Capo is a blend of general confusion and
a jumble of vendors' stalls,
winding toward the old gate (Porta Carini) of what used to be the city wall.
Here
we'll purchase fresh fruit, vegetables and all
the ingredients necessary for the cooking course. Then we will take a taxi
to reach the housewife house to start cooking. At the end of the cooking
course, we will enjoy our scrumptious creations with the perfect compliment—a
beautifully paired Sicilian wine. Dessert follows accompanied by a typical
local Lemoncello (home maked).
